The Challenge
Before Beam AI, the firm relied on STACK for takeoffs—a process that consumed 45–60 hours per project. With so much time spent on manual work, they could only push out 4–8 proposals a month. The heavy workload also led to material waste, adding labor, fuel, and transportation costs that cut into margins.
Estimators were stuck in spreadsheets instead of focusing on strategy, and despite the effort, win rates hovered around just 5–10%. For a lean team, the barrier wasn’t opportunity—it was bandwidth. They needed a faster, more efficient way to scale bids without burning out their estimators or sacrificing profitability.
I'm used to not doing a takeoff right now. I've already forgotten what it was like to sit in front of a computer for a week. I don't know if I could go back to doing manual takeoffs.
