The Challenge

Before adopting Beam AI, the team operated in a fast-paced bid environment with a lean team. Estimating and bid submissions were handled by just 1-2 people, and while they used PlanSwift for takeoffs, the process was mostly manual, which limited how many bids they could actually pursue.

Interior demolition added another layer of risk as little on-site visibility made it hard to accurately assess varying materials and assemblies. Also, a market hungry for work led to a flood of bid-invite emails, making it time-consuming just to sort through opportunities and decide which ones to pursue, adding even more pressure to an already stretched estimating team.

Estimating isn’t the only thing I do, so the biggest benefit has been freeing up time for other responsibilities, especially project management. It’s helped alleviate some of the pressure of trying to fit everything into the day.
