The Challenge
Before adopting Beam AI, RDC relied on manual takeoffs in PlanSwift for all projects:
- Full site and building packages required up to 40 hours to complete, while building-only packages took 1–3 workdays using PlanSwift.
- Manual takeoffs limited the team’s ability to multitask across multiple bids.
- Addenda required manual comparisons, increasing effort and making it harder to quickly identify plan changes.
- With the entire estimator team focused on takeoffs, they had limited time to multitask, refine calculations, and work on pricing.
Beam AI has been able to take the place of an estimator focused on taking off a project. Since we are able to upload several projects at a time, we are able to save the time of one or two full time estimators during the take off process.
